Warriors: 2009 Champs!

Congrats to the Warriors!  They defeated More Cowbell 31-13 in the finals to claim their 2nd straight league title.  All the playoff results can be viewed here in the Playoff Bracket Final Results.

Thanks again for a great season guys.  Look foward to seeing everyone next year.  Have a great Thanksgiving and good luck to the teams going on to the Virginia State Tourney.

PLAYOFFS!

Hard to believe the 2009 season is coming to an end.  I’m excited about the playoffs and look forward to a great day of play. 

 

The complete playoff schedule is located behind the “Schedule” tab, so to get a listing of the games on Saturday and their times, check that out.

 

Also, don’t forget the End of Year Party, immediately following the Championship Game, from 4-6pm.  The party will be held at Kilroys, which is about 1.5 miles west of the field, down Braddock Road.  Here’s a map to Kilroy’s.  We’ll have plenty of food and a ball game on the big screen.  It should be a great time, so I hope you’ll all try to make it, regardless of how deeply your team plays in the playoffs.

Play In Games for Saturday are CANCELLED

Due to the weather we have cancelled the play in games for tomorrow. Unfortunately, we are unable to reschedule these games or find another field where we can play. We’re very sorry for this inconvenience. 

We hope to see you all at the End Of Year Party at Kilroy’s on Saturday, 11/21 from 4-6pm.

The scores from week 10 have been updated, as well as the standings.  Currently, the standings are:

There is one game left to be played.  The Team Force/Team Jesus game will be played this weekend as a makeup.  Depending on the results of that game, seeds 5-8 may change. 

Seeds 1-4 and 9-10 are set.  Since seeds 1-4 had the same record, and had a merry-go-round of who had beaten whom etc, we went to point differential, which is the average of points scored and points allowed.  The Warriors had the highest  differential, followed by More Cowbell, Who’s Next, and Frontline.

After the Team Force/Team Jesus game this weekend, all the seeds will be finalized, and I’ll update the blog with everything then.  In the meantime, you can view a playoff bracket, without teams, in the “Schedule” tab.

The weather has held out in the latter part of the week so games are ON for tomorrow.  See you on the field!

Looks like the rain held out overnight, and won’t start until later this morning or afternoon.  We’re going to play as much as we can and if the rains move in later, we’ll postpone games as needed.  Hopefully we’ll get them all in!  See you on the field!

League End of Year Party

Mark your calendars!  The IBCFFL End of Year Party is scheduled for November 21st from 4-6pm at Kilroy’s in Springfield Virginia.  Kilroy’s is about a mile west of IBC, down Braddock Road.  We’ll have plenty of food, and your family members and friends are all invited.  A big screen TV will be showing a ball game and the party will provide a great opportunity for you to hang out with your teammates as well as some of the other guys in the league.  I hope you’ll plan on being there!
